David Futch

David has a Bachelor’s degree in secondary education and a Masters degree in instructional technology. David has spent his teaching career in Northeast Florida teaching at all levels of high school and as an elementary computer lab teacher. He has taught Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop certification and Final Cut Pro courses in a high school new media program. David also spent many years as a district level instructional technology coordinator working with teachers integrating technology into their classrooms. David has been presenting at Florida Educational Technology Conference (FETC) since 2001 and enjoys the challenges of “what’s next” in education technology. He has been working with teachers across the state as a Florida Master Digital Educator and is currently region five president for Florida Society of Technology in Education (FSTE).

In addition to working as a professional development consultant with Discovery Education, David has worked on the development of eLearning courses for North East Florida Education Consortium (NEFEC) and St Johns Technical College and continues to develop e-learning courses on the Moodle platform. David continues to explore how technology can enhance education with personal endeavors such as St Augustine Digital Memories and Florida Digital Memories.

Amy Gropper

Amy has been working in the Education field for the past 20 years in many different capacities. She has spent the majority of her time teaching in the 7th grade Social Studies and Language Arts classroom (both brick and mortar and online), but has also taught at the elementary level. In addition to classroom teaching, Amy has served as a student teacher supervisor for Georgia State University’s College of Education and has created and taught face-to-face and online Gifted Education and certification courses for the state of Florida. Amy has her Bachelor’s degree in Middle Childhood Education and her Masters degree in Instructional Technology.

Additionally, she has her Gifted Certification for the state of Florida and has achieved National Board Teaching Certification, as well. Amy has served in a few capacities for Discovery Education’s Professional Development team. These include delivering professional development, serving as a project manager for specific accounts, and acting as a lead facilitator, coordinating small teams of PD specialists. She most enjoys working in the capacity of PD facilitator and gets great satisfaction in moving teachers toward digital integration and best instructional practices.
